Finger painting is good for the soul

Finger painting is good for the soul

Some days, striving for realism just hurts the brain. Example below.  This one was just not coming together the way I had anticipated. I have long wanted to start a collection with a dark and mysterious background. I was having a difficult time achieving the desired effects with the flowers.  I become notoriously bored with my subject matter if I am not “feeling” energized or inspired by the time I’m almost finished. This time I actually got irritated and began “pixel smearing” just out of frustration... and really liked the result.

Have you ever become so frustrated with something that turned our unexpectedly awesome?

I came across a Pinterest page featuring the Royal Ballet of London's performance of the "Tale of Jeremy Fisher."  The images of the coloured botanical backgrounds, water plants, trout, water beetle and, of course, a frog named Jeremy  are absolutely enchanting.
