Mardi Gras Collection

The Mardi Gras Collection is a series of tableaux vivants representing my expression of the season of Carnival through elegant and alluring New Orleans characters and their irresistable pets.

The Carnival season actually begins on King's Day (Feast of the Epiphany).  Fat Tuesday is never on the same day each year because Easter Sunday is never on the same Sunday each year.  Fat Tuesday is always the day before Ash Wednesday.  It is a season of parades, balls (some of them masquerade balls), and king cake parties.  It has traditionally been part of the winter social season; which at one time was when parties for Southern Society women, debutante balls, were arranged.
