The Madame Blanchefleur Apolline - Mardi Gras Art Print

The Madame Blanchefleur Apolline Brings A White Tiger To The Feast Of The Epiphany Is the first in a series of Mardi Gras tableaux vivants by Kimberly Potts, representing Mardi Gras, the season of Carnival...

The Carnival season actually begins on King's Day (Feast of the Epiphany). Fat Tuesday is never on the same day each year because Easter Sunday is never on the same Sunday each year. Fat Tuesday is always the day before Ash Wednesday. It is a season of parades, balls (some of them masquerade balls), and king cake parties. It has traditionally been part of the winter social season; which at one time was when parties for Southern Society women, debutante balls, were arranged.
