Art Journaling my solo trip through Northern Italy

Art Journaling my solo trip through Northern Italy

January 26, 2020

I've always hoped that maybe one day I would be inspired to create an art journal.  It wasn't until a blissful two-and-a-half week trip to Italy recently that I was convinced to finally do so.  This was my first opportunity to visit Northern Italy.  I was captivated (charmed really) by the lifestyle, customs and beautiful backdrop of every stop I made... the simple things were the most beautiful...

Church Cat by Kimberly Potts, Artist

Inspiration behind the Church Cat

Necessary

Necessary

February 17, 2019

I am a very spontaneous and splashy artist, and the Arteza pens react immediately, almost like confetti!  What I mean by this is, “whatever happens, happens” and I am satisfied with the result. I assume the universe is giving me divine direction. This exercise is extremely gratifying (and necessary) for a watercolor artist.

Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas

Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas

December 26, 2018

I have a couple of paperwhite bulbs blooming profusely on my kitchen bar. The scent is cloying, heavy and blanketing, like a powdery white snow. To me, it is a sweet reminder that spring is just around the corner.

My Tribute to Claude Monet

My Tribute to Claude Monet

January 08, 2018

I love the brooding suspense in dark and snowy paintings... One of my favorite paintings by Monet, Environs de HonFleur, leaves a lot of questions unanswered, and a lot to the imagination. When I first discovered this painting, I began looking for a lone wolf or a fox out on an errand, and found nothing. It is beautiful in its desolation.
